Badyal farm manages approx. 1000 acres across the Fraser Valley

We have been in the fresh produce industry for over 25 years. We are committed to delivering high-quality fruits and vegetables to all our customers at the best possible prices. Our location in the Sumas prairie area in Abbotsford gives us an advantage over other farms in Canada. The abundant sunlight and sandy soil allow us to harvest sweet corn, blueberries, English peas, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts approximately 2 weeks earlier than other farms.

We hand-pick our sweet corn to minimize damage caused by machine harvesting. Our crew starts harvesting at 5 a.m. when the temperature is low. The corn is immediately sent to our facility, where it is washed with water and then processed using hydrocooling liquid technology to maintain its sweetness and shelf life. We ship approximately 3 million pieces of corn yearly across Canada. We aim to ensure that our produce reaches retail stores and customer tables in the best possible condition. Our sweet corn is available in bulk bins of 45-50 dozen and 4 dozen cases.

Our fresh Green Beans, English Peas, Brussels Sprouts, and other crops are also hand-picked. This meticulous method significantly reduces product decay caused by damage from harvesters, ensuring a longer shelf life and superior quality. We maintain a large field crew to ensure the job is done well.

Food Safety

Our food safety program is meticulously designed to uphold the highest standards in the production and shipment of our products. We are committed to delivering excellence in quality and safety at every stage of our operations.

Our company adheres to the CanadaGap and HACCP safety program regulations.

Our facility undergoes an annual audit by accredited third-party organizations to ensure compliance with Canada Good Agricultural Practices (CanadaGAP).

Charities

We proudly support various food banks across British Columbia, including Fraser Valley Gleaners. Badyal Farms regularly donates surplus vegetables to these charities, helping to provide essential resources to those in need.

Humble Beginning

Gurmukh Singh Badyal founded Badyal Farm with the assistance of his father and his entire family, including his younger brother’s family. We are second-generation farmers, farming for over 25 years in Canada!

Badyal Farms produce the finest sweet corn, fruits and vegetables across the Fraser Valley. Our humble journey started with fresh blueberries in 2010 and grew to over 20,000 sqft facility of packing house and a large cooler in 2019.

We supply products to all major Canadian distributors and expanding into the United States. We aim to deliver the highest quality products at affordable prices for everyone to buy.

Throughout the year and during our peak season, Badyal Farm employs over 100 local workers. We also provide jobs and housing to seasonal foreign workers through the Mexico Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program.
